Cheers to Mom and Dad!

This weekend was refreshing.  I spent a long needed Friday night hanging out late with my sister, talking about everything. The hours passed by like pine needles falling from our pine tree out front.
By the time I got to bed it was nearly time to wake up. The conversations were so in depth and just what I needed to feel refreshed.  Of course the following couple days I was a walking zombie, trying to stay awake for my girls, but who needs sleep when you have tender love from precious innocent children.
(that sounds lovely, but I do!!! ;-) I need sleep in order to be my best for them. Although I haven't slept a full nights sleep at home since Reese has been born, I still make sure I have slept enough hours to be alert and energetic for them. Some mornings when Riley gets up early and I can barely open my eyes, Reese still sleeping like a tiny angel, I doze on the couch while she watches some cartoons. I am so grateful for this opportunity, if it is presented in a time of sleepless need. I am not sure if it's a mommy thing, but no matter how deep I am into my slumber, I am able to jump right out of my dreams to tend to a tiny cry or a "mommy", I think it's my super power... What's yours?

The family was able to successfully surprise our parents for their 60th and 61st birthday at a restaurant! (that's a lot of people at one table, not to mention 7 grandchildren!) Mom's sister, Katie, and all of my siblings and their families gathered together for dinner; in celebration of my amazing parents and their life long birthdays together, that they have shared with each other for over 30 years! WOW! Three days and one year apart; Happy Happy Birthday mom and dad!!! :-) and here's to your undying, ever growing love, for each other! :-)

Cheers!!! ( half the table)
